Perry, GA – Congressman John Boehner (R-OH), the Majority Leader of the United States House of Representatives today traveled to Perry, Georgia to endorse former Congressman Mac Collins (Ret. R-GA) in his race against Democrat Jim Marshall in the new 8th Congressional District. The 21 counties that make up this new, powerful district are Baldwin, Ben Hill, Bibb, Bleckley, Butts, Colquitt, Dodge, Houston, Irwin, Jasper, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Newton, Pulaski, Tift, Turner, Twiggs, Wilcox, Wilkinson, and Worth.

“It was a true honor to have Congressman Boehner take time out of his busy schedule to come on down to Georgia and endorse my candidacy for Congress,” Collins said. “Julie and I have been friends with John for many years. I can’t express in words how much his support means to me. As a member of the majority party and a twelve year veteran of Congress, I have the experience necessary to fight for the interests of our district. I look forward to representing Houston County as their Congressman and working to ensure the future growth of Robins Air Force Base,” said Congressman Collins prior to Tuesday night’s visit.
