Mac at the U.S. Senate Agricultural Committee meeting in Albany

On Friday June 24th Congressman Mac Collins attended the Southeast regional meeting of the United States Senate Agricultural Committee. Congressman Collins (Ret. R-GA) discussed agricultural issues that impact Georgia with Senators Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and Pat Roberts (R-KA) prior to and following the meeting. Mac also met with dozens of farmers from middle and southern Georgia to discuss how to make the 2007 Farm Bill work for Georgia’s agricultural community to prevent the mistakes in the earlier Farm Bill which tended primarily benefit Mid-Western farmers rather than Southern farmers. In addition to meeting with Senators Chambliss and Roberts, Mac also spoke with Gary Black and Congressman Sanford Bishop (D-GA) about Georgia agriculture.

Today the Chairman of the Senate Agricultural Committee, Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), will host a Pig Pickin’ in Tifton for Congressman Collins.
